Barry Manilow has
devetoed his life to music. Born in Brooklyn, New York in the 1940's,
he was raised by his grandparents. He began singing at the early
age of 13, shortly after his Bar Mitzvah. He quickly picked up playing
the accordian, but fell in love with the piano, which later would
become his instrument of perfection.
Early in Barry Manilow's career, his record
lable Arista lowered his age by 3 years to 29 from 32 to appeal
to a younger audience. He began writing commercial jingles and quickly
excelled at this, writing jingles for State Farm Insurance, Band
Aid, and it was reported that he wrote a successful campaign jingle
for McDonalds. He also teamed up with Bette Midler at the Continental
Bathouse in New York City where he played piano, wrote, arranged
and produced songs for the show.
He excelled at the piano, writing, producing
and arranging songs, but he is widely known for his solo effort
in which he released such hit songs as Mandy in 1974, Copacabana
in 1978, and so much more. He has appeared in film and conutless
television shows thoughout the years.
He is currently performing his show at the
