The conception of Mystere started in
early 1990. The shows orginal destination was Caesar's Palace with
a Greek Mythology theme. However, it never made to the Palace, due
to the Exceutives thinking that the show as a bit risky for the
current times of Las Vegas. However, Siegfried & Roy
didn't think so and their performances lead to the creative door
opening and the show gaining it's strong hold at Treasure Island
three years later, and what a good move that was. Mystere
was one of the first shoes to every have it's own theatre at Treasure
Island. All prior Cirque Du Soleil shows gained it's popularity
by touring around the globe and taking there show to venues everywhere.
This was a first for Cirque Du Soleil.
It was also the first time Cirque was able
to work with a major financial backer. The Mirage Casino, which
owned Treasure Island at the time, gave the green light to produce
the best show possible, and that is exactly what they did. The show
quickly became a Las Vegas landmark and still sells out to this
day. Tickets for Mystere are hard to come by and fans
are loving the productions. The entire concept of Mystere is orginis
of life, and a tad bit of mythology. Incredible acrobatics, singing,
acting, live musical performances, incredible atheletes, unbelievable
magic, and so much more. Mystere is definitely a Las Vegas must
see, being a crowd favorite year after year.
Mystere currently performs at several shows a night at the
Treasure Island Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada.
